Companion Care

Longer Sessions of Care and Support in Your Own Home

What is Companion Care?

Companion care is sometimes referred to as companionship care. Companion care sessions tend to last between 2 and 8 hours. What our carers help with during these sessions varies by arrangement, but activities tend to be of the softer, more social type. Companion care is often sought by a primary caregiver to give them a break. Companion care is also useful if you live further away from an aging relative to make sure they remain safe and engaged in the community. People also often hire companionship care for themselves.

Although by arrangement a carer can also help with tasks that are more complex and can offer domestic support, companionship care tasks include:

  • Companionship and conversation
  • A day trip
  • Preparing and enjoying meals together
  • Help with your weekly shopping
  • Joining in with your favourite hobbies
  • Taking you to a club or event
  • Arranging activities for you
  • Driving you where you need to go
  • Booking appointments and taking you to and from appointments
  • Planning, booking and taking you on outings and visits

The goal of our companion care service is to make sure you or your loved one can lead a happy and healthy lifestyle, engaging in the things that they enjoy. It can be a relief to know there is a friendly and caring person visiting regularly.
